Know what you want
Getting the local development framework to say what you want is an efficient way of encouraging the development and conservation benefits that you want to see in your area, and discouraging what you want to resist.
The framework gives you the opportunity to push for a more coordinated approach to planning between transport and land-use planning, for example.
Think about what is needed to care for or improve places you know well
- What is stopping these from happening already?
- What could overcome these obstacles?
- What is it that drives planning decisions in your area, economic, social or political factors, for instance?
- Could you bring any of them into line with your aims?
- Could you make constructive suggestions, such as whether there are sites, buildings or pieces of land that would be good for a particular purpose?
